I fell in love with art when I was eleven years old while watching the PBS documentary on the life of Leonardo da Vinci. With my nose pressed to the television each week, I felt, even as a child, connected to him somehow. That connection-we both were artists.
During junior high and high school I took art classes as electives being advised that I should study business to be able to make a living when I graduated. So I studied business and technology. I entered the business world as an adult and worked my way up the corporate ladder with my last position being an Administrative Director for a non-profit organization. But art always remained in my heart.
When my parents grew older and their health started to decline, in 2003, I took a break from my administrative career to focus my attention on their needs. I would paint late at night to escape the pain I was feeling over their illness and to relax. I found an incredible release and joy in painting.
Dad passed away in 2003, and mamma in 2007. I lost my wonderful parents, but found my self as a working artist in the process. Art is now my joy, my passion, and my new career. Art makes me feel alive. My goal is to use my talent to make a difference in any way I can. I participate in several charitable fundraisers every year, donating art, creating art or working as a volunteer. Please view "Projects" page to see some of the causes I support.
I also create custom art, custom hand-painted kitchen tiles, life-size fiberglass horses, full scale murals, custom projects and product design, I have a new business and a new passion for life doing work that I love.
I only wish I’d gotten started sooner.
Some of my original paintings can be seen at Lisa French Interiors, 2298 Germantown, TN, next door to the Germantown Commissary. We change these paintings out from time to time throughout the year.
I also am beginning to take my show on the road, and have been participating in shows here in the city and at local festivals. How wonderful to get out and meet art lovers face to face...this is exciting!
