A quote from the editorial page, The Commercial Appeal, July 5, 2008:

"Congratulations to the Germantown Charity Horse Show on your 60th anniversary.
I want to thank The Commercial Appeal for your coverage of the magnificent collection of
life-size painted horse sculptures created by local artists.  The artists have given a
wonderful gift by sharing their artistic talents with the citizens of the Memphis area.  It is
heartwarming to know this project will benefit local charities."-McKay D. Clark, Memphis

A live auction was held on October 19th at Saddle Creek, it was all so exciting
as each horse was brought to the main stage as bidders called out their bids.
"A Ride in the Country" was purchased by a lovely lady who enjoys carriage
riding.  Ride now lives on a private farm in Olive Branch Mississippi.

At the Arena! When I first saw this, it took my breath
away. I stood there stunned at the way all the horses
looked, placed in a circle around the arena.

During the summer months the horses
were placed around the community.  My
horse was at the corner of Polar Pike and
West Streets at the Germantown Parks
and Recreation Office
